Local legislators say while no one got everything they wanted accomplished, they believe the 2022 session of the Kentucky General Assembly was a success.
Ninth District state Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke says most notably, the two-year budget passed both chambers with bi-partisan support.
Representative Walker Thomas of Hopkinsville was also well-pleased with the budget bill and says the session was successful for him personally with several bills he sponsored becoming law.
Thomas says he’ll continue to advocate in future sessions for exempting military pensions from the state income tax, which did not pass this year.
