The man accused of fatally shooting 23-year-old Adrian Acree in October at the intersection of Sharpe and Jones Street, has turned himself into the Hopkinsville Police Department.
That’s according to HPD Public Information Officer Mike Atkins, who says 25-year-old Cortez Hairston, Jr. turned himself in Thursday. He had been sought on a warrant for murder, and is alleged to have shot Acree multiple times with a hand gun after Acree was allegedly driven there by 24-year old Jaila Sherrod of Hopkinsville.
Sherrod and another co-defendant, 23-year old Dekorian Daniel of Hopkinsville, are charged with complicity to murder in the incident. They are alleged to have helped plan the killing.
Cortez is charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
