Attorneys gearing up for trial in McHenry Street murder case

A final pretrial hearing was set in the case against Robert Torian, as attorneys gear up for trial that’s set to begin in June.

Torian—who is charged with murder in relation to the 2019 fatal shooting death of Terrill Moore—appeared with defense attorneys Jason Byrd and James Chamberlin in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.  Byrd informed the court that Torian now has access to the evidence in his case and he is working his way through it, and they will begin trial preparations in the coming weeks.

Judge Andrew Self set a pretrial hearing for May 4, saying they can certainly files any motions or request any additional hearings as needed.

The original arrest warrant from Hopkinsville police says Torian and Moore had been in an argument while both were passengers in a vehicle on McHenry Street in August of 2019. Torian was in the back seat when he exited, opened the front passenger door and allegedly shot Moore in the head.
