House transportation budget includes funds for industrial connector US 79 bridge replacement

The Kentucky House has passed its version of a transportation budget and the Senate will likely approve its own version next week before the two chambers compromise.

State Representative Myron Dossett notes there’s funds for lights at KY 115 and I-24 and just under $2 million in the next two fiscal years for early phases of the industrial connector from Hopkinsville’s industrial parks to KY 115 near the interstate.

There’s also about $2.8 million in Fiscal Year 2024 to widen KY 115 between Anderson Road to just south of Pembroke.

The highlight for Todd County is $5.5 million in Fiscal Year 2024 to begin replacement of the CSX Railroad Bridge on US 79 near Novelis that’s part of a larger project to make that highway safer as many tractor-trailers go from Russellville to Guthrie and then Tennessee.
