Murray State falls in WNIT, U of L & Austin Peay begin post season play today

Murray State was routed by Vanderbilt 73-47 in the opening round of the Women’s NIT in Nashville. Macey Turley led the Racers with 13 points, while Katelyn Young followed with 10. Hannah McKay was just shy of a double-double in the contest, with nine points and a team-high nine rebounds. The Racers end the season with an overall record of 22-10.

The Women’s NCAA Tournament begins today with top seed Louisville hosting Albany in the first round of the Wichita Region at the KFC Yum Center. Tipoff is at 5pm.

Austin Peay will play this afternoon in the Women’s Basketball Invitational against Saint Mary’s. Tip off at Transylvania University in Lexington is at 1:30.
