The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to terms with former Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman on a six-year, 162-million-dollar deal. Freeman is coming off a World Series championship after 12 seasons with Atlanta. The Braves had extended Freeman a qualifying offer at the end of last season, but he refused it to become a free agent for the first time in his career.

The Chicago Cubs are locking up Japanese star outfielder Seiya Suzuki with a five-year, 85-million-dollar contract. The Athletic reports the deal is the largest ever for a Japanese position player.

The Nashville Predators are back in action this evening as they visit the Philadelphia Flyers. First puck drops at 6 pm.

Louisville area native Justin Thomas is in the field for the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship that begins today in Palm Harbor, FL.
