A Lyon County grand jury has indicted a Kuttawa man for murder after an elderly woman he was the sole care taker of died in October.
As previously reported, deputies and EMS responded to a residence on KY 295 north of Kuttawa, where they located 80-year old Virginia Bozarth, who had life-threatening injuries and was very malnourished and dehydrated. She was taken to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah for treatment, but died from her injuries and condition.
Fifty-one-year-old William Hammonds was initially charged with wantonly neglecting or abusing an adult, but has now been indicted for murder.
Hammonds is lodged in the Crittenden County Jail on a $1 million bond.
