A conference committee will soon begin its work to iron out a compromise on a state executive budget after the Kentucky House and Senate have approved their own versions.
State Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke didn’t like the Senate removing funding for all-day kindergarten from its spending plan, but says the committee will reevaluate all priorities.
Representative Walker Thomas says concerns are coming from the public that will likely help guide the conference committee in making some of the changes.
Senator Whitney Westerfield says the budget will loom over the session until the committee completes its work and he’s becoming less confident his online consumer privacy bill will pass this session.
Dossett says legislators are likely to work long evenings this week as the session is more than two-thirds complete.
