Ribbon cut, open house held for spec building

While a very few things remain to be completed on the new speculative building in Hopkinsville’s Industrial Park, people were able to tour the facility Thursday at a ribbon cutting event.

The hope is to sell the roughly 100,000 square foot building to an interested industry, as it is move in ready, and Kentucky Association of Economic Development Chairman Bob Helton says businesses are looking for opportunities such as this.

Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development Commissioner of Business Development Jeff Taylor says initiative is the name of the game where it comes to attracting industries, and this spec building will do just that.

South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council Director Carter Hendricks says they know they’ll be able to sell this building, as it is just one of many things that make this area attractive.

The site, located at 640 Frank Yost Lane, is considered ‘build ready’ in Kentucky, and houses all required utilities that any industry would need to begin operations as quickly as possible.
