An Iowa man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 641 in Calloway County early Monday morning.
According to a news release from the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to report of an overturned tractor-trailer hauling logs near Phillips Drive on Highway 641. Investigation determined that 68-year-old Bernie Reid of Waterloo, Iowa had been northbound on Highway 641 when the tractor-trailer exited the roadway.
Heavy rain and strong winds are considered a factor in the crash. The vehicle overturned and Reid was ejected. The Calloway County Coroner pronounced Reid dead at the scene.
