An investigation into an incident on East Ninth Street Saturday afternoon led to the arrest of a man on a robbery charge.
The victim told Hopkinsville police that 36-year old Michael McGregor of Hopkinsville had invited him into his residence to talk and then confronted him over a stolen phone. When the victim said he didn’t have a phone, McGregor allegedly hit and kicked him while he was on the ground multiple times.
Police say McGregor took $200 from the victim and fled the scene prior to police arrival, but he was soon located and arrested.
McGregor is charged with first-degree robbery.
