Rural King planning Hopkinsville store

Rural King is coming to Hopkinsville, if final negotiations and local incentives come together, with a new store set to open in the Bradford Square Mall.

According to a news release, the mall would get an $8 million dollar redevelopment alongside the Rural King, which would be its flagship store. Rural King Real Estate will also work to fill the remaining redeveloped space with additional retail, restaurant, and entertainment businesses. The investment, once complete, is expected to create 170 full time jobs with 55 positions associated with the new Rural King store.

All store locations have a large variety of products, such as livestock supplies, clothing, hardware, and compact tractors.

Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch says, “This announcement marks a great day for Hopkinsville and all of South Western Kentucky. We realize this location will serve to revitalize our mall and to provide additional choices for our regional residents. We are appreciative of Rural King’s interest in our community and are confident that they’ll enjoy tremendous success in their new store and with their planned redevelopment.”

Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says, “For years, county residents have told me that we need a Rural King. Today, I’m honored to be a part of the announcement that Rural King is likely coming to Christian County. Equally impressive, they’re planning a significant reinvestment in the mall which will have a tremendous impact on the community and entire region.”
