The Evansville Courier Press reports the University of Southern Indiana is headed to NCAA Division One athletics. The school’s Board of Trustees voted Monday in favor of making the move from Division Two. The NCAA’s period for reclassification is four years, during which time the Screaming Eagles teams cannot play in NCAA post season tournaments. USI currently plays a number of its sports in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, but it’s not known what conference they may look at in making the move to D-1.
