Pennyrile Electric crews have worked around the clock and have reduced the number of members without power due to Thursday’s ice storm from 3,200 to 509 in the last 24 hours.
A vast majority of those are in western and north Trigg County, though there a very few still in the dark in north Christian County.
Roads are mostly clear, thanks to the efforts of state, county and city road crews, but motorists will still need to be on the lookout for black ice from refreezing on any roadway.
There were reports of at least one non-injury accident from overnight on I-24 in Christian County that may have been ice-related.
