SATURDAY SPORTS BRIEFS 2/5/22

NBA

Former Bowling Green High and Austin Peay product Terry Taylor had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds in a starting role in the Indiana Pacers 122-115 loss to the Chicago Bulls Friday night. The Pacers are back in action Sunday evening at the Cleveland Cavaliers.
All Star Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies are back in action this evening at the Orlando Magic. Tipoff is at 5 pm.

NHL

The NHL All Star Game takes place this evening in Las Vegas. Nashville Predators goalie Juuse Sarros and defenseman Roman Josi are participating in the games that begin at 2:15 Central time Saturday afternoon.

MLB

Talks between the league and the players association are going nowhere. MLB requested a federal mediator to intervene and keep the talks over a new collective bargaining agreement going but the players rejected using the mediator. It’s very likely the start of spring traising will be delayed until the sides get together on a new deal.

Golf

Seamus Power at 16 under has a five shot lead on first round leader Tom Hoge and two others heading into Saturday’s third round of the PGA Tour’s Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is at four over par through two rounds.
