Governor Andy Beshear will be in Elkton next week to present state funds to for local water districts to use for much-needed upgrades.
Elkton is receiving funds for water storage tank improvements, Trenton’s money will be for improvements at the wastewater treatment plant, Guthrie is getting funds for emergency generators and the Todd County Water District is receiving money for a master meter addition project.
Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield told fiscal court Wednesday morning that the governor will announce all of the details at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Historic Todd County Courthouse on the Elkton Public Square.
In other action, magistrates approved spending $850 for the county to have a second working fire department radio pager system repeater, with Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith noting the redundancy is critical as the system operates the tornado sirens in the county.
Todd County Jailer Jeff Penick says they are housing 105 state inmates and 27 local inmates and magistrates approved this year’s version of the jail policy and procedures manual, which is unchanged from last year’s edition.
