Relatively calm weather is expected in western Kentucky this week, though bitter cold will make a return by Wednesday morning.
After a high in the lower 30’s Tuesday afternoon, Meteorologist Christine Wielgos with the National Weather Service in Paducah says cold and extremely dry air from Canada will bring wind chill values to five degrees or less early Wednesday.
Cold and dry will be the story through the weekend and Wielgos says early indicators show next week will likely be warmer than average with above normal precipitation.
Longer range models into February show more of the same, wetter than average with above normal temperatures.
