Police: Woman took iPhone that was laid down by mistake

A Hopkinsville woman is charged with felony receiving stolen property after she had possession an Apple iPhone that had been laid down by mistake at the bowling alley on Canton Street late Saturday night.

An arrest citation for 23-year old Kesha Cavanaugh of Hopkinsville says she answered and then hung up when the phone belonging to a 20-year old Oak Grove woman was called and that a ‘ping’ of the phone led police to a location on Vass Lane.

A search warrant was executed and the phone was located and returned to its owner.

Police say there was surveillance footage at the bowling alley showing Cavanaugh in the area when the victim accidentally left her phone behind.
