CCHD reports four COVID deaths, 1,108 new cases in the last week

Christian County gained at 1,108 new cases of COVID-19 in the last week, and there were four more COVID deaths.

According to a news release, none of the four victims were vaccinated and include a 75-year-old female and three males ages 56, 73 and 73—it brings the overall death toll locally since the pandemic began up to 169.

There were 1,108 new cases reported, but officials say due to the increased demand and high volume of COVID-19 cases, breakthrough cases were not reported in Thursday’s statistics as CCHD staff haven’t had the capacity to verify vaccination status of all COVID-19 positive cases.

Those new cases put the overall total at 14,854—of that 1,766 are considered active and 12,919 have recovered from the virus.
