Bentzel says CCPS families should have plan for potential move to NTI with rising COVID cases

Christian County School System Superintendent Chris Bentzel is urging parents to have a backup plan in place, should the district need to transition to non-traditional instruction due to continued increasing cases of COVID-19.

Bentzel says the highly-contagious omicron variant has caused a spike in the school system and he’d advise parents to be prepared to change to NTI with not a lot of notice.

He says the district will maintain in-person learning as long as staffing, attendance and community health statistics allow.

Meanwhile, Bentzel discussed the consolidated high school project during his appearance on WHOP, saying dirt work could begin at the site at Fort Campbell Boulevard and Lovers Lane as soon as this spring.

The State of the Schools breakfast is coming up Tuesday, January 25 at 7:30 a.m. at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.
