Every county is ‘red’, Ky. adds 9,450 COVID cases

Every county in Kentucky is now ‘red’ on the COVID-19 state incidence rate map, as the state saw another 9,450 COVID cases from Monday to Tuesday.

The positivity rate also continues to climb, now at 26.79 percent as the omicron variant burns through the state, with Governor Andy Beshear saying they’re now starting to see hospitalizations, the number of those in the ICU and on a ventilator starting to creep up. There are currently 1,953 people in the hospital with COVID-19, 449 in the ICU and 237 on a ventilator.

There were only nine new deaths, putting the death toll at 12,434 since the pandemic began. All 120 counties on the state incidence rate map are now ‘red’.
