Traffic stop leads to meth trafficking arrest

A traffic stop on Fort Campbell Boulevard Friday afternoon led to the arrest of the driver for methamphetamine trafficking and other charges.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Josh Stallons stopped 41-year old Christopher Hall of Hopkinsville for traffic violations and an arrest citation says he was observed reaching into the passenger seat.

Hall reportedly smelled of alcohol and an open can of an alcoholic beverage was located, in addition to an empty bottle.

A search of a cooler in the vehicle allegedly revealed five grams of meth and a glass pipe and a search of Hall’s person reportedly turned up two glass pipes.

Hall denied ownership of any of the items, claiming he had allowed a female to use his jacket and cooler, according to the report.

Hall is charged with trafficking in meth, disregarding a stop sign, failure to signal and possession of an open alcohol container.
