Volunteers are needed to visit residents of nursing homes in the nine-county Pennyrile region and there will be a training opportunity next week at the PADD office.
Cindy Tabor with PADD says the program is called “Friendly Visitors” and it’s simply committing an hour a week to visit folks in your local nursing home.
Tabor says many nursing home residents don’t have regular visitors and the experience can lift their spirits and your own.
Training will be held Wednesday, January 12 at the PADD office on Hammond Drive in Hopkinsville and you can RSVP or ask questions by calling Tabor at 2708869484 or by emailing cindy.tabor@ky.gov.
