Alison Craig, the 2022 Distinguished Young Woman of Christian County, will represent the county at the 2022 Distinguished Young Women of Kentucky Scholarship Program in Lexington next week.
Craig is a senior at University Heights Academy and the daughter of Amy and Nate Craig and is one of 28 young ladies from across the state will participate in the Scholarship Program. Each participant will compete in five categories including talent, fitness, interview, scholastics, and self-expression.
Craig will compete in the Talent, Fitness, and Self-Expression portions of the competition on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. The interview portion will be during the practice week and the Scholastic portion has already been judged by a separate panel of judges. The finals will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 8th. The young lady chosen at the state level to represent Kentucky will travel to Mobile, Alabama in June of 2022 to compete in the Distinguished Young Woman of America, a share of more than $125,000 in cash scholarships and millions in college scholarships.
Distinguished Young Women of Christian County Scholarship Program has awarded over $55,000 in cash scholarships since 2010.
