Proceedings continued for time to review evidence in Sharpe St. murder case

Another pretrial hearing was set for March in the murder case against Mory Burse, as his attorneys review evidence in the case.

Defense attorney Rick Sanborne, who represents Burse, says there is a significant amount of evidence to go through, and while they have started the process, they’re requesting more time to examine it all.

There’s still more evidence yet to come, with Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling informing the court his office is still awaiting medical reports that he will then provide to the defense. Christian Circuit Judge Andrew Self set a pretrial hearing for March 9, saying it’s his hope to either resolve it or set it for trial at that time.

Burse is alleged to have used a 9 mm handgun to shoot 48-year-old Devon Kendrick of Hopkinsville multiple times in the torso and arms just before midnight July 28 at a location behind the East Ninth Street Dollar General on Sharpe Street.
