Pennyrile Area Community Band looking to make a comeback

The Pennyrile Area Community Band is looking to make a comeback, and they’ll be at First Presbyterian Church on January 4 looking to meet and greet with the community.

Michelle Cherry plays in the band and says the pandemic really put a hurting on their efforts, but they’re eager to move past that and find new players and begin having rehearsals and concerts again. She says they’re looking for new players, and they’re accepting all instruments.

The meet and greet will start at the church at 6 p.m. and they’ll have refreshments and information on hand.

They’ll have a new director in Alan Baker for the spring season, with Cherry saying they’re glad to have him stepping in to lead the group.
