Pembroke Elementary set to reopen January 10

Pembroke Elementary School is set to reopen on January 10, after it was damaged in a destructive tornado that hit the community on December 11.

According to a news release, Christian County Public Schools announced the plan to reopen Pembroke Elementary School for in-class instruction on Monday, January 10, with faculty and staff to return to the school on January 4 to prepare their classrooms for students to return. Technology devices, classroom furniture and learning materials will be reallocated to the unaffected rooms and areas within the elementary school prior to students returning to Pembroke.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel says, “We are thankful for our community members and industry partners for coming together to help open Pembroke safely and swiftly. ServPro began removing water from the school building on day one. Swift Roofing Company had a temporary roof installed three days later. We are truly looking forward to having our students and staff back at Pembroke.”
