Four injured in I-24 crash

Details have been released on a head-on collision from Tuesday morning on I-24 that injured four people.

Christian County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Goulet says Ibrahim Eshhe of Texas had been westbound near the 72 mile-marker just before 7 a.m. when he went into the median and through the cable barrier into the eastbound lanes. His semi went off the road and then re-entered the intestate, colliding head-on with a vehicle driven by Ashley Whitaker of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee.

The guide wire from the barrier broke away and struck another automobile operated by Brandy Blakeley of Cadiz. Whitaker was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville and her two children were eventually transported to Vanderbilt Pediatric Hospital.

Blakeley was taken to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.
