Man arrested on meth trafficking charge

An investigation on East Ninth Street early Friday morning led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville man on methamphetamine trafficking charges.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Josh Stallons recognized a vehicle possibly connected to a theft of roof shingles on Spring Street parked at the East Ninth Huck’s gas station a few minutes before 1 a.m. and made contact with 41-year old Genesis Bloomer of Hopkinsville.

An arrest citation says two glass pipes fell out of his vehicle Bloomer exited and a search allegedly revealed five grams of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Police say Bloomer appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs and he allegedly admitted to smoking crack cocaine and spice.

Bloomer was charged with trafficking in meth, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bloomer declined to discuss the theft investigation on Spring Street, according to the report.
