A pursuit of a stolen vehicle that began on Glass Avenue in Hopkinsville early Wednesday morning ended on Quisenbery with the arrest of the driver and passenger.
A Hopkinsville police officer observed the stolen Ford Mustang at Glass and West Seventh and the driver—26-year old Terry Cantrell of Hopkinsville—allegedly fled at a high rate of speed when a traffic stop was initiated.
Police say Cantrell ran stop signs and drove in a reckless manner before the pursuit was brought to a stop at 1650 Quisenberry.
Cantrell was arrested and charged with felony receiving stolen property, fleeing or evading police, possession of a handgun by a felon and driving on a suspended license. He was also served with warrants for a separate pursuit on December 6 when he was able to get away on foot and he’s charged with parole violation and failure to appear in court.
His passenger, 29-year old Shawn Ellis of Hopkinsville, is charged with felony receiving stolen property.
