Todd County honors retiring treasurer, magistrate

A reception was held Friday morning at the Todd County Courthouse to honor Treasurer Tammy Robertson and Magistrate John Camp, who enter retirement at the end of 2021.

Robertson has been the Todd County treasurer for the last 21 years and spent a little over a decade working in multiple capacities for Muhlenberg County prior to coming to that.

She remembered all of the elected officials she’s worked with over the years to help make Todd County a better place.

She noted Todd County has gone from struggling to pay its bills to having a cash balance of over $5 million over the last two decades.

Meanwhile, Squire Camp retired from farming and is now stepping away from fiscal court to allow himself more time to travel and do other things he’s interested in.

He praised former judge-executives Arthur Green and Daryl Greenfield and current judge Todd Mansfield for their leadership in getting and keeping Todd County on good financial footing.

Misty Carlock will assume Robertson’s duties as treasurer and the governor will have to appoint someone to fill the vacancy created by Camp’s retirement until someone is elected to serve in next year’s elections.
