The deadline to enter a float or unit in the 2021 Christmas Parade has been extended to Wednesday, December 1st.
According to a news release, entry forms can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation office on Thomas Street or filled out online at hoptownrec.com. For more information, call 270- 887-4290. Cash prizes will be presented for the traditional floats and golf carts.
The Hopkinsville Electric System downtown Christmas parade will take place Saturday, December 11 with the event to get underway at 5:15 p.m. The 2021 parade theme will be “Home for the Holidays” as our community and country continue to rally from the pandemic’s impact.
The Community Christmas Tree Lighting takes place at Founders Square on December 10 at 6 p.m. and Skating On the Square will return for a two-day run on the ice December 11 and 12, also at Founders Square.
