Ky. adds 1,421 COVID cases, 53 new deaths

The positivity rate saw a small spike Friday, while Kentucky added 1,421 cases of COVID-19.

According to the daily update, the positivity rate is now at 5.19 percent—it had been reported as 5.03 percent the day before.  There were also 53 newly reported deaths, putting the death toll in the Commonwealth at 9,939, approaching another grim milestone.

There are currently 726 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19, 219 in the ICU and 128 on a ventilator.

On the COVID-19 state incidence rate map, Christian County dropped back into the ‘orange’, while Todd County remains ‘yellow’ and Trigg County remains in the ‘red’.
