There will be a Republican primary for Christian County Clerk in 2022 as Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries has announced she’s running.
Humphries says she’s always been interested in running for county clerk and the timing is just right this time.
If elected, Humphries says she’ll work to make herself and the office as accessible to the public as possible.
Humphries has held several positions in the clerk’s office and will be stepping down as elections coordinator while she runs her own candidacy.
She will face former clerk’s office employee Erica Newby in the Republican primary.
