The University of Kentucky announced yesterday a jersey honoring former coach Orlando “Tubby” Smith will be raised when High Point plays the Wildcats at Rupp Arena on December 31st. Smith led Kentucky to a 263-83 record with four trips to the Elite Eight and the national championship in 1998. The Wildcats won five regular-season SEC titles and five SEC Tournament championships under Smith, who spent two seasons working as an assistant at Kentucky under Rick Pitino. Smith’s jersey will be the 45th to hang in Rupp Arena.
