An Elkton man was flown to a Nashville hospital following an accident Wednesday morning on the Russellville Bypass.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office investigated and determined 52-year old Michael Lyons of Elkton was eastbound in a pickup on the US 68 Bypass near the Highway 79 North intersection and railroad tracks.
A box truck driven by Brian Burton was stopped at the railroad crossing due to the crossarms being activated and Lyons struck the stationary truck and then lost control, causing him to hit the railroad signal post.
Lyons was flown by PHI to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, while his passenger—39-year old Joshua Keith of Bonnieville, was transported by EMS to Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green.
