Cardinals clinch playoff spot, Reds and Cubs lose, Braves win Tuesday

Eugenio Suarez hit his 30th home run of the season in the Cincinnati Reds 7-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox. The Reds are now eliminated from a run at the NL playoffs. The teams play again tonight with pregame at 6:40 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

The St. Louis Cardinals are headed to the postseason. St. Louis beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-2 to clinch the second NL wild card spot and its 17th consecutive win. Game two is tonight at Busch Stadium.

The Atlanta Braves edged the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 and moved three and a half games of the Phils in the NL East race. The series continues tonight in Atlanta.

The Chicago Cubs lost their seventh straight game, falling 8-6 at Pittsburgh. Game two is this evening at PNC Park.
