Over 150 contestants compete in Senior Games

Over 150 contestants from the nine-county region were at the Sportsplex Tuesday for the Pennyrile Senior Games and four are at least 90-years old.

The oldest contestant is 96-year old Clina Mae Norfleet of Christian County and the oldest man competing is 84-year old Wayne Young of Christian County.

Pam Rudd with Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation says they were glad to have the seniors back competing again after last year’s event was canceled.

The seniors were also happy to be back together again, with many not having seen each other since the last games.

The contestants compete in shuffleboard, cornhole and several other games for the chance to win a medal in their age group and everyone who participates gets a t-shirt.
