Murtha hired as new Chamber Military Affairs Director

The Christian County Chamber of Commerce has announced the hiring of Kristi Murtha as director of military affairs.

Chamber officials say Murtha is a military spouse and she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Auburn University.

She has a background in sales, management and was most recently a case reviewer for Peraton, responsible for conducting thorough reviews of federal background investigations.

Chamber President and CEO Taylor Hayes says, “I am most impressed with Kristi’s passion and professionalism. She will be an enthusiastic ambassador for Christian County sharing our vision as a place that values hospitality and promotes inclusion and opportunity for people of all backgrounds and aspirations, including our military friends.”

Murtha’s responsibility will be to maintain and strengthen relationships with Fort Campbell, the military community and military advocacy groups, organize and coordinate Military Affairs Committee activities and functions, advocate at the local, state and federal levels for policies that better the lives of our military families, and market the community as a military friendly community and retain and recruit military families to Christian County.

In a news release Murtha says, “I’m excited to serve Christian County by working with the Chamber of Commerce and its members to strengthen ties with our military community. I am a proud military spouse who hopes to bring new ideas and energy to a well-established association.”

She will assume the role beginning Monday, September 27.
