HPD arrests two people for drug trafficking

An investigation by Hopkinsville police Saturday afternoon ended with two arrests for drug trafficking.

Officers were requested to do a welfare check on a child after a witness saw a man and woman pull a child into a UHaul truck by the hair.

Two people matching the description were located in a Uhaul on McLean Avenue shortly afterwards and a traffic stop was made.

Arrest citations for 30-year-old Tanisha Dhaliwal of Hopkinsville and  the driver, 46-year-old Phillip Stroud of Hopkinsville, allege there was methamphetamine, prescription pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia located during the investigation.

Both suspects were charged with trafficking in meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, with Dhaliwal also charged with prescription pills not in the proper container and Stroud with possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed deadly weapon by a convicted felon.
