Ky. adds 5,111 COVID cases, 24 deaths

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 5,111 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, along with another slight decline in the positivity rate.

There were 24 more COVID deaths reported, putting that total at 7,845—Governor Beshear says the state continues to break records on individuals in the hospital, reporting 2,365 in the hospital, 661 in the ICU and 425 currently on a ventilator.

Governor Beshear called it a scary time and urged every one to stay safe and get the vaccine.

The positivity rate decreased some down to 13.17 percent.

On the COVID-19 state incidence rate map, Trigg County is once again ‘red’ after being listed as ‘orange’ on Thursday—Christian, Todd and the bulk of the state also remain ‘red’.
