The Christian County Public School System is asking the public to help name and brand the new consolidated high school that was created last month by the school board.
With the Hopkinsville High School Tiger and Christian County High School Colonel monikers falling away when those buildings eventually close, Superintendent Chris Bentzel says the district wants community input on what the new high school should be called.
You should also submit a proposed mascot and school colors when you complete the online survey linked to the district’s website.
Bentzel says a committee will be formed to look over suggestions and make a recommendation to the school board—which will ultimately make the final decision.
The proposed site for the new mega-school would be just south of Lovers Lane on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Meanwhile, the Christian County Public School System received a $10 million grant appropriated in Kentucky House Bill 556 to be designated for vocational educational centers, meaning those funds can be used for construction of the new building that will include the Gateway Academy.
