Grand jury returns indictments for assault, robbery

A Christian County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments related to assault Friday afternoon.

Indicted for second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment is 23-year-old Antonious Settles of Hopkinsville, who is alleged to have gotten into an argument with a female victim in June and pulled a handgun on her, demanding that she leave.  When the victim tried to leave, he allegedly struck her multiple times in the head with the gun, causing visible injuries to her head and ear.

Also indicted for second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment is 32-year-old Jesse Futrell of Hopkinsville.  He allegedly got into an argument with a male victim in July and when thing escalated, he reported threatened the victim with a knife.  When others tried to intervene, he allegedly swung the knife at the victim, hitting him in the fingers and causing injury.  He is also alleged to have attempted to harm another male at the scene, but people on scene were reportedly able to subdue him and take the knife away.  Futrell left the scene and was later arrested by Hopkinsville police.

The grand jury indicted 35-year-old Cornelius Fowler of Bowling Green for second-degree robbery, alleging that on July 17 he got into a physical altercation with a female victim and took her car keys from her before driving off in the victim’s car.  The vehicle was later located and reportedly contained the victim’s purse, ID and dog, all of which was returned safely to the victim.
