Woman facing several charges after driving into home, other cars

A Hopkinsville woman is facing several charges after she allegedly drove into a house and multiple vehicles on Brame Drive Thursday morning.

Hopkinsville police were called to the 100 block of Brame for 53-year-old Betty Ware of Hopkinsville at her ex-boyfriend’s home where she had been warned to stay away from.

An arrest citation says she refused to get out of her car and accelerated into the home, causing severe damage.

She then allegedly backed away and nearly hit an officer before she drove behind the home, striking another parked car before backing into a police cruiser.

Police surrounded Ware and pulled her from her vehicle, placing her under arrest for wanton endangerment, third-degree assault of a police officer, felony criminal mischief, stalking, fleeing or evading police, criminal trespass and DUI.

She registered a blood alcohol content of .151—nearly twice the legal limit—according to police.
