Ky. adds second highest day of newly reported COVID-19 cases

Kentucky had its second highest day of newly reported COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic Thursday at 5,401.

That puts the overall total since the pandemic began at 557,835—there were 27 newly reported deaths, putting the death toll at 7,667.  The positivity rate increased once again, now up to 13.24 percent, which continues the trend of new record highs for that rate.

Every county in the state is still listed as ‘red’ on the COVID-19 incidence rate map.  There are currently 2,115 individuals in the hospital with the virus, 590 in the ICU and 345 now on a ventilator.
