The Los Angeles Rams have acquired a much needed running back as they have obtained 2018 first round draft pick Sony Michel from the New England Patriots. The Pats get a fifth and sixth round conditional draft pick next year. Michel will fill a need for the Rams, who lost running back Cam Akers, who tore his right Achilles tendon working out before training camp.

The Denver Broncos announced today former Louisville standout Teddy Bridgewater will be the starting quarterback for the season opener. The Broncos will play at the New York Giants September 12th.

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer announced today top draft pick Trevor Lawrence will be the starting quarterback for their season opener. The Jaguars open the season at Houston on September 12th.

College Baseball

The Pac-12 announced today it will have its first ever conference tournament. The event will be played in Scottsdale, AZ May 25-29 next year. The double elimination event will be played at Scottsdale Stadium-the spring training home of the San Francisco Giants.

Golf

The LPGA announced today its Buick Shanghai LPGA event, scheduled for October 14th-17th is cancelled for this year due to Covid related issues. The event hopes to return next year.

The second week of the PGA Tour playoffs begins tomorrow as the BMW Championship begins in Owings Mill, MD. Louisville area native Justin Thomas is in the field.
