The second game of the series between the Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies was postponed last night due to inclement weather. The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader today.

Miguel Cabrera hammered the 501st home run of his career as the Detroit Tigers clipped the Cardinals 4-3 in St. Louis. The teams meet again this afternoon in the series finale.

The Atlanta Braves attempted a late rally but came up short in a 5-4 loss at home to the New York Yankees. It’s the second straight loss for the Braves, who have the next two days off before hosting San Francisco Friday night.

Yadier Molina is coming back for one final run with the St. Louis Cardinals. The veteran catcher is signing a one-year extension with St. Louis that will keep him with the franchise for the entirety of his MLB career. The deal is worth 10-million dollars as the 39-year-old adds to his record 2,080 games behind the plate with the Cardinals.
Molina only ranks behind Hall of Famers Stan Musial and Lou Brock for the most games played for the franchise. He is a two-time World Series champion and a 10-time MLB All-Star.
