Lewis Croft, former magistrate and Crofton mayor, dies

Former Christian Fiscal Court magistrate and Crofton Mayor Lewis Croft died Friday at the age of 83.

Croft spent 11 years on fiscal court, concluding in 2010. Prior to that he served as mayor of Crofton and served on Crofton City Council after leaving fiscal court.

Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble had known Croft since he was a young man and says he always loved the people of Crofton and they loved him.

He says Croft will be missed by all of Christian County, but especially in Crofton.

Croft was a retired coal miner and was active at Crofton Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Crofton City Council Member Wanda Croft, and his three children.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ridgetop Cemetery, with Dogwood Funerals and Cremation of Crofton in charge.
