An investigation on East 25th Street in Hopkinsville Sunday morning ended with the arrest of a man on burglary charges.
Hopkinsville police were called to a burglary in progress at 401 East 25th a little before 9:30 a.m. and an arrest citation says 28-year-old Zachary Parker of Hopkinsville was inside the fencing.
After first saying he was looking for his dog, he later admitted he’d crawled through a gap in the gate of the fence and that he went inside a building to get chains.
Police say he had multiple tools commonly used in burglaries, including saws and blades.
Parker was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.
