Longtime Hopkinsville Middle School Principal Wendy Duvall is heading to the Todd County School District to serve as Assistant Superintendent.
According to a news release from Christian County Public Schools Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, Duvall, who has been principal at HMS for 14 years, accepted the position and says she will greatly miss her HMS family. She says, “I am excited to begin this new journey with Todd County School District. It is bittersweet to leave my Hopkinsville Tiger Family after 14 years as principal, but I know they will be in great hands with the new interim principal. My time in Christian County has been amazing and will forever hold a place in my family’s heart.”
Superintendent Chris Bentzel has appointed Nicole Poindexter to serve as interim principal at HMS until a new principal is hired. Poindexter currently serves as assistant principal at Hopkinsville High School and has a 20-year career of experience in education. Superintendent Bentzel says, “Nicole Poindexter’s student development skills are second to none and she is the right leader at the right time to continue the mission of ALL IN at HMS.”
